First Seasons
What to make of just—
words names that sound
columns words that are just
names.
The anchoring effect prevails
when the harbor
silvers over.
Under the aurora, an apple tree
lets down
a second time. The better
for the lodge
stabled past the gateway.
Depending on this or that,
the lake side
powers the barn
for weeks.
Shanked reeds mark the badger’s den
until a rose under the bridge
funks it all up.
Waters route toward home,
shored eastward by a marsh
under stars.
